Additional Information about UPS with PayPal

  • The Ship To address can have a maximum of 35 characters between Address lines 1 and 2.

  • Package size and weight limits:

    • Max weight: 150 lb

    • Max length: 108 in

    • Max dimensions: 165 in for length and girth combined. Girth is calculated as (2 x width) + (2 x height).

Packages exceeding these limits may have an Over Maximum Limits surcharge applied by UPS. Learn more about UPS Shipping Charge Corrections.

  • UPS applies a Large Package Surcharge to each package with a length + girth that is between 300 cm/118.11 in and 400 cm/157.48 in. Large packages are also subject to a minimum billable weight of 88.18 lb.

Additional Handling charges are not added when the Large Package Surcharge is applied.

  • Saturday Delivery is not supported within the PayPal by ShipStation Shipping Center.

  • UPS does not ship to domestic or international P.O. Boxes.

  • There are restrictions for mailing prohibited and hazardous materials, including cigarettes, smokeless tobacco, and alcohol. For more details, see UPS's List of Prohibited and Restricted Items for Shipping.

  • UPS provides maximum liability coverage called "Declared Value" for shipments up to $100 in value. To add Declared Value liability coverage, enter the value of your shipment in the Insured Value field when you create a label (up to $100).

  • The following confirmation types are available for UPS shipments:

    • Delivery (tracking): Free for all domestic shipments.

    • Signature: Available for an additional fee from UPS.

    • Adult Signature: Recipient must be of legal adult age in the destination country. Available for an additional fee from UPS.

  • International shipments: Customs information will be electronically submitted for UPS international shipments. You do not need to print additional copies of your customs form or commercial invoice.

You must ship your UPS international shipments within 14 days of the label creation date to reduce the chances of your shipment being held at customs.

Learn more about creating international shipments in the PayPal Shipping Center.

  • If your UPS shipment is insured for over $1,000, the PayPal Shipping Center will generate a High-Value Package Document titled "UPS Control Log" for insurance coverage up to $50,000.

You must print two copies of the High-Value Package Document. Include one copy with your package.

The second copy must be signed by a UPS employee and returned to you. The signed document is your proof that UPS has accepted the package(s) and will be required to submit an insurance claim.

If the High-Value Package Document is dropped off at a UPS Access Point™ and not signed by a UPS employee, the maximum coverage is $1,000.
