File an Insurance Claim

In the unlikely event that your package is damaged, destroyed, or lost in transit, and you purchased package insurance for your shipments, you can quickly file a claim with ParcelGuard™. Learn more about adding insurance in the PayPal Shipping Center.

Requirements

  • All claims must be filed within 120 days of the shipping date.

  • In the case of lost packages, you must wait 30 days before filing a claim.

  • Please retain all damaged items until final settlement, as you may be asked to surrender any items claimed as damaged beyond repair. Failure to do so could adversely affect your claim.

File ParcelGuard Insurance Claim

To file an insurance claim:

  1. Click File a Claim from your Shipping Summary after purchasing your label.

    If you've left this screen after buying your label, you can access it anytime in the Labels tab.

  2. Follow the onscreen instructions to submit your claim.

Keep All Packaging and Damaged Goods

When you are filing a claim with ParcelGuard, keep all packaging and the damaged goods as they were received, as photographs may be required for claims processing. Do not dispose of any shipment materials or goods before the claim is complete.

Communication from ParcelGuard

Once you have filed a claim with ParcelGuard, your documents will be reviewed within 24-48 hours by a representative.

A representative will contact you about your claim. This contact will be by email only.

  • Claim Status and Updates: When a ParcelGuard representative updates a claim, you will receive a status update email.

  • Claim Payments: When your claim is paid, you will receive an email.

    • Emailed Check (Deluxe): Emailed Checks are sent immediately to the email address you provided when filing a claim.

    • PayPal: PayPal payments are sent immediately to the email address you provided when filing a claim.

    • Once your claim is "Under Review" and approved for payment, please allow up to 5 business days for the payment process to complete.
